No Tutorial

No Tutorial was the title – coined by Katie Tender – for the School of Art’s senior exhibition at the Miller ICA on Carnegie Mellon University’s campus. Named before Spring Break of 2020, the concept of No Tutorial rang precisely to how we would finish our senior year and transition out of college.

Though our physical exhibition was cancelled, that did not discourage our class from brainstorming alternatives. A Web Design committee was quickly assembled to plan an online exhibition, and our team worked closely with Studio Otto, the Miller ICA staff, and School of Art staff to strategize, design, and collect work for this virtual gallery space.

On top of these responsibilities, I designed the exhibition logo with Izzy Stephen and Sheenu You. Inspired by Microsoft’s classic Notepad interface, we created a simplified visual of how No Tutorial was and will continue navigating our lives online.
