Artist, Designer, occassional Writer

                                                                just in Berlin

My current work documents the cultural consequences of crisis, with specific attention to China and Chinese-claimed territories, including the region most commonly known as Xinjiang. Across Europe, I am interviewing artists and activists from these diasporas, who are addressing issues of national identity, cultural preservation, and human rights abuse. With the German backdrop serving as my base, these interviews reveal how change looks in familiar yet foreign contexts.

This project is made possible by the Fulbright Kommission in Germany where I am an Arts Research Fellow, affiliated to the Art in Context MFA Program at the Berlin University of the Arts (Institut für Kunst im Kontext, Universität der Kunst Berlin). Prior to that, I freelanced as a Visual Journalist and Designer at publications Foreign Policy Magazine, The Hustle, and Factal. And prior to that, I worked in the creative department of Foreign Affairs Magazine within the Council on Foreign Relations. My artwork has exhibited at internationally at the Yianjiao Biennale, Miller ICA, Stamp Gallery, Frame Gallery, Ellis Gallery, as well as online in UCLA’s Flat Journal. I got my BFA in 2020 from Carnegie Mellon University, where I also ran NCAA DIII track and cross country.

I'm currently open to illustration commissions, local reporting, and/or other freelance work. Take a look at my stuff and get in touch if you think I can help. I communicate in English, Mandarin, German, and Adobe Creative Suite =)
